Sant Silvestre run: for something a little more active on New Years Eve, sign up to the San Silvestre run which takes place on New Years Eve and is a popular new years eve event. The 8000 strong race will set off from Marina at 5.30pm following a a 10km course up past the Arc de Triomph and round the boulevards of Barcelona to Torre Agbar (the phallic mirror-style landmark) beofre descending back to the sea and along Port Olympic. Take in some of the spectacular landmarks of Barcelona as night falls and the streets fill with illuminations. Once you've got the blood pumping you'll be ready to celebrate with one of the many parties going on in the city.
